Worth it if…
Yes for the sensation: leaning against outward-tilted glass 1,100 feet up is a genuinely different experience from standing behind a rail, and the glass-floor panel photo is the one people take home. The Midtown-from-outside vantage means you see the whole skyline as a wall — Empire State, Chrysler, One Vanderbilt in one frame.
Pick another deck if…
You're afraid of heights in the visceral sense (this deck is engineered to trigger exactly that), or you want classic postcard framings — Hudson Yards sits west of the icons, so you shoot the skyline as a distant wall rather than standing inside it. Top of the Rock wins for composition.

Best time to visit
Sunset from the southeast corner — the skyline AND the Hudson glow; weekday mornings for near-empty glass-floor photos.

Tips from the deck
- The glass floor queue is for the photo op only — you can walk the outer platform freely without it.
- Wind closures affect the outdoor platform a few days a year; the indoor 100th-floor level stays open but is not why you paid.
- Combine with the High Line — it ends at Hudson Yards, making Edge the natural finale of a west-side walking day.
- City Climb is a separate 90-minute harnessed experience, not an upgrade you decide on at the door.

Edge — quick answers
It's the most height-visceral of the NYC decks by design — outward-leaning glass, a see-through floor, and open-air wind at 1,131 ft. If that sounds like the point, book it; if it sounds like a problem, SUMMIT or Top of the Rock deliver views without the exposure.
Edge is a thrill platform with the better outdoor exposure; SUMMIT is a mirrored art-and-light spectacle with the better Instagram interior. Photographers with one slot usually pick Edge at sunset; groups and dates skew SUMMIT.
The platform sits at 1,131 feet (100th floor) — about 100 ft above One World Observatory's indoor deck and 280 ft above Top of the Rock.
